Are you priceless? Do you know your value? What are you comparing your value to?
As I got dressed today I decided to put on my new Priceless T-shirt from Phrohetess Cycelia Matthews. As I took a selfie to post my new shirt I began to think about how we as Women of God sometimes value ourselves.
Well as shocking as it may seem many of us somehow still value ourselves based on how the world, our friends, and others see us and not how God sees us. We start to get so caught up in how others perceives us we forget how valuable we really are. We begin to allow the unrealistic expectations of others to depreciate our God given value.
So how do we stop this from happening? How do we protect our worth? First we have to understand what it means to be priceless (valuable). Merriam-Webster‘s definition says it’s having value beyond price. So being priceless means your value is immeasurable.
So let’s asks ourselves a few questions. What is our value? Have we compromised our value? And does it line up with the worlds value of us or Gods?
When we think about our value (our self worth) it should be immeasurable, never compromising, or displeasing to God. We should always push ourselves to the reach our fullest potential. Never dumb ourselves down just to gain attention. We should use our gifts and talents to help serve others not to gain expectance. Lastly we should never try to fit in because we are designed to be set apart because God created us in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26). These are some great examples but if you are still a little unsure about how to measure your value this is what Gods words says: “An excellent woman [one who is spiritual, capable, intelligent, and virtuous], who is he who can find her? Her value is more precious than jewels and her worth is far above rubies or pearls.” PROVERBS 31:10 AMP.
Now I don’t know the last time you priced jewels, rubies, or pearls but for real authentic ones they do not come cheap. So if God sees our value as such; then why do we continue to put ourselves on the half off table or carry ourselves like some cheap knock off accessories just to fit in or get attention!!! God paid a large price to free us from the world (1 Corinthians 7:23), so let’s stop conforming and reclaim our value!!!
So Women of God today I declare and decree that we will no longer conform to the value that the world or others try to put on us! Today we will no longer try to fit in or compromise our value for attention or expectance! Today we proclaim that we are, valuable, we are precious, we are PRICELESS!!!
