Wednesday’s Words of Encouragement

Happy Wednesday!!! Everyday my sister friends and I encouraging one another and praying for each other through phone calls, text messages, or shared social media post. Today one of my sister friends blessed me with an amazing scripture. It was from the book of 2 Corinthians.

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” (‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

So many times people forget how important it is to comfort one another like God comforts us. Like when our friends and family finds themselves in trouble some people are quick to say ‘oh I can’t help them’, or ‘they always in need they need to help themselves’. This maybe true but would God say that about you? Would God turn His back on His children when trouble comes? Will He say, they always need me or they’ll be okay let the ask someone else. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! When we seek God for comfort He will give it inspite of how many times we need Him. God is a souverign, merciful, forgiving, loving, and kind. Whe we are in need He will never leave us or forsake us. So that means he is always there!

So I encourage you today to be a comforter like God! When your brother or sister is in trouble and need comforting, just take the time and  pray with them, send them a text, give them a hot meal, or just be a listening ear. It is not our responsibility to fix them or their troubles that’s what a relations with Christ will do but it is our responsibility as Christians to love and care for one another like we do ourselves (Galatians 5:14)
